Leading provider of Apprenticeships, Remit Training is excited to announce that IT apprentice, Rory Kiernan has been shortlisted for the Microsoft Apprentice of the Year Award. After successfully completing an Apprenticeship in IT Sales last year he was nominated by his employer, Axess Systems, for this fantastic award.

Apprentice finalist, Rory Kiernan said “It’s always a proud moment to be shortlisted for any award, but to be nominated for an industry award by my employer after working so hard feels that little bit better. I’m looking forward to the awards on June 4th whatever the outcome may be.”

After completing his education Rory opted to do an Apprenticeship over going to university because of the benefits that Apprenticeships provide describing it as the best possible foundation to build his career.

Rory added “I have developed into a much more confident person and I’m proud to be able to do things now that I never thought I would when I began. A large part of this is down to the support and encouragement I have been shown by both my employer and Remit Training.”

Ed Morton, Managing Director and Founder of Axess Systems said “As Managing Director and Founder of Axess Systems I have employed a large number of people in the 15 years we have been in business and in Rory I wholeheartedly feel we’ve uncovered a star.”

This year marks the 5th Anniversary of Microsoft sponsoring the Apprentice of the Year Awards. All shortlisted candidates and their employers will be invited to attend the awards reception to celebrate their success over the past year.
