Meet the Executive Team

Rob Foulsto– Chairman

Rob acquired Remit in April 2008 in partnership with the Retail Motor Industry Federation.  Rob’s background is in law and finance and he was also the Chairman and co-owner (with his sister Jane) of ITEC (an international awarding organisation) for 18 years, which was sold to VTCT in 2016. Rob is co-owner, with his sister Jane, and Chairman of Emma Hardie, an international skincare brand, a shareholder and Director of Motest, a chain of MOT, service and repair centres in the South of England, a partner of Adam Street Advisers, a boutique M&A advisory firm and a partner of Acuity Legal, a law firm specialising in M&A. Rob is also vice-Chair of South Thames Colleges Corporation.

 

Sue Pittock – Chief Executive Officer

Sue joined Remit as Managing Director in August 2013. Sue is professionally qualified with a post grad MBA. Sue has previously assumed leadership positions which have benefitted from her drive and passion by putting the learner at the heart of the business. Sue brings with her over 10 years’ experience of working in the education and training sector.

Sue has successfully driven material business improvements in her previous roles which have resulted in significant growth in revenue and profits. Sue believes these successes are achieved by inspiring people and creating a strong culture of teamwork.

 

Diane Herft – Managing Director & Group HR Director

Diane joined Remit in September 2015 as Managing Director for Remit Food and to lead the group’s national HR function. She works closely with Remits’ operations around the country to deliver the company’s people strategy to ensure operational excellence. Diane brings a wealth of experience with her, not only from the training and employment sector, but she has also spent a number of years in healthcare, semiconductors, manufacturing and the financial sector before moving back into the training, education and technology sector where she spent 7 years as HR Director for Tribal’s Education and Technology Division before moving to esg. where she spent 5 years before joining Remit.

MCIPD qualified, Diane has international experience and plays a major part in the group’s continued growth strategy through directing and overseeing its ongoing people and organisational development.

Martin Field – Finance Director

Martin Field joined Remit in January 2017 as Finance Director following a lengthy career as Finance Director with Pall-ex, the UK’s leading Pallet Distributor.

Martin has over 30 years experience in Finance and Accounting and is experienced in handling organisations turnover up to £75m.

 

 

Christine Peddie – Business Unit Director – Automotive

Christine is an experienced Operations Director with over 20 years’ experience within the work based learning and adult skills sector. Christine’s career history includes operations management with a number of UK training providers. She comes with a great deal of knowledge and a proven track record in running effective apprenticeship programmes, always making sure every learner counts.

 

 

 Clare Green – Business Unit Director – Business Services

Clare has worked in the work based learning and adult skills environment for over 16 years. She is an experienced Director with many years’ experience in leading and developing teams, gained mostly in the work based learning environment, within sales, client services, operations and quality.

Clare specialises in designing bespoke apprenticeship programmes for corporate clients which add maximum value to their business by designing tailored training and development solutions that match business needs and objectives ranging from apprenticeship programmes through to leadership programmes.

 

Chris Garcia – Business Unit Director – IT

Chris is the Business Unit Director in IT for Remit Training. Chris has worked in work based learning since 1998 in senior roles across operations and quality. Over time, Chris has led teams across a wide range of curriculum sectors ranging from Hospitality to Automotive, Active Leisure and IT.  Chris has worked with some of the top UK training providers to grow their apprenticeship provision and delivering innovative and quality training programmes.

 

 

Jane Firth – National Contracts Director

Jane has been in work based learning for over 15 years and began working in work based learning as a Provider Financial Assurance Auditor working on behalf of the Government department, the National Employer Services. Jane then went on to work for several national training providers managing quality, audit and compliance.

Jane is a specialist in internal audit, quality improvement and subcontractor management and has a proven record of improving quality and achieving compliance.

 

Fiona Hawkesley – National Contracts Director

Fiona has worked in education and skills for over 20 years and led teams and supported major brands with implementing large scale training programmes, specialising in Apprenticeship levy.

Fiona has worked in senior roles within large national training providers before joining Remit to support large Levy clients in February 2017.

 

 

Peter Leitch – Scotland & Wales Automotive Director

Peter is the Scottish and Welsh Director for Remit. Peter has led the operations for a number of manufacturer apprenticeship programmes and independent dealers in Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales. He has previously been a director with other training providers in the automotive industry. Peter has an exemplary record within Government funding activities and commercially delivered business. Peter is a business focused leader who has over 25 years’ experience and knowledge on understanding and delivering measurable business improvements. Peter is also a Director of the Scottish Training Federation who are the voice of the work based learning provider network.

 

Kathryn Gundle – Head of Quality

Kathryn has worked in the work-based learning sector for 12 years, specialising in quality and curriculum development. Her previous background was retail management for 20 years before qualifying as a teacher. Kathryn’s focus is to drive the quality of Remit’s delivery and develop the learner journey to ensure each learner experiences an engaging and enhanced programme of learning.

 

 

Joanne Pinkney – Marketing Director

Jo has over 20 years’ experience in leading corporate Marketing teams across the education and skills sector. Prior to joining Remit in April 2017, Jo had spent two years establishing a Digital Marketing Agency in Hull which followed a 16-year career in Marketing with Tribal Group where she held the role of Group Marketing and Communications Director. Jo is passionate on driving digital growth in the business and engaging with Apprentices online to provide a great learning experience.

 

 

Lorraine Jamieson – Management Academy Director

Lorraine joined Remit in May 2017 following a lengthy career as Regional Director with a leading UK training providers. Lorraine joined Remit to manage our Management Academy and supports with managing Remit’s large Levy client programmes. Lorraine has a background in Hospitality prior to entering the work-based learning sector and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Remit.
